Feedback and discussion to integrate and relate work based learning and classroom based instruction. This course may be repeated for up to 8 credits.

CJ 295 - Work Based Learning, and Instructor Permission
Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:

  1. Discuss the unique factors of working in a Criminal Justice field.
  2. Discuss and demonstrate good work habits, such as punctuality, responsibility, etc.
  3. Accept and give constructive criticism
  4. Have an increased knowledge of the structure and organization of the criminal justice system.
Institutional Outcomes
IO3 Human Relations/Workplace Skills: Students will be able to explain ethical decision making and know why high personal ethics is vital in criminal justice.
Course Content Outline
  1. Varies based on internship chosen but will cover:
    1. Agency specific rules and regulations
    2. How CJ agencies work together
    3. The dangers of working in the Criminal Justice field
    4. Situational awareness
    5. Working with the public
    6. Professional behavior and work ethic
