FIR 104: ARFF Officer Development

This airport, rescue firefighting officer development course covers strategic and tactical considerations in a hands-on, live-fire ground environment, as well as leadership training.

Prerequisites

Current employment in firefighting industry for future or Commissioned Fire Officers
Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:

  1. Demonstrate basic leadership skills in a live fire setting
  2. Describe the incident command structure/components
  3. Describe all aspects of aircraft evacuation and search & rescue techniques as they apply to aircraft emergencies
  4. Describe the overall roles and responsibilities of the fire officer at an aircraft emergency
