FIR 102: Aircract Rescue and Fire Fighting Truck Operations

This course is providing training and experience for students to properly operate a crash truck during a crash truck during an aircraft fire.
Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:

  1. Demonstrate strategies, tactics, and communication for deploying an ARFF vehicle at the scene of an aircraft fire

  1. Classroom instruction on strategies and tactics
  2. Classroom instruction on agent application/extinguishing agents and communication
  3. Truck familiarization
  4. Driving and Turret work
  5. Re-servicing/tanker shuttle/ working off hydrant or other water supply
  6. Driving experience and turret targets
  7. Structural panel operations with hand line operations
  8. Driving experience and hand line targets
  9. Relay pumping using C-6 to lay LDH to C-4
  10. Live-fire crash simulation
