Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:

  1. Set up and adjust equipment for safe Cutting, Welding, Brazing and heating applications.

The student will demonstrate competence in:
  1. Straight Cutting
    Use 3/8" x 4" x 8" plate
  2. Straight Cutting
    Use 3/4" x 4" x 8" plate
  3. Round Bar cutting 1/4" to 1"
    90 degree cut and 35 degree bevel
  4. Square tube cutting
  5. H and I beam cutting
  6. Angle Iron cutting
  7. Bevel 35 degree straight cutting
    3/8", 3/4"
  8. Scarfing
  9. Piercing Holes
  10. Pipe Straight, bevel cutting
  11. Machine Cutting
    Repeat #1, #2, and #7

Department Guidelines

Grades will be calculated as follows:
50% Based on completing all course competencies.
50% Based on Lab Participation, Cleanup on a daily basis, and following ALL Safety rules.
