Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:
- Set up and adjust equipment for safe Cutting, Welding, Brazing and heating applications.

The student will demonstrate competence in:
- Straight Cutting
Use 3/8" x 4" x 8" plate - Straight Cutting
Use 3/4" x 4" x 8" plate - Round Bar cutting 1/4" to 1"
90 degree cut and 35 degree bevel - Square tube cutting
- H and I beam cutting
- Angle Iron cutting
- Bevel 35 degree straight cutting
3/8", 3/4" - Scarfing
- Piercing Holes
- Pipe Straight, bevel cutting
- Machine Cutting
Repeat #1, #2, and #7 - Machine Cutting
Repeat #10 - Plasma Arc Cutting
- Carbon Arc Cutting
- Carbon Steel Running Bead
Without rod - Carbon Steel Running Bead
With rod - Butt Joint

Department Guidelines
Grades will be calculated as follows:
50% Based on completing all course competencies.
50% Based on Lab Participation, Cleanup on a daily basis, and following ALL Safety rules.
