Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:

  1. Demonstrate a knowledge of color theory
  2. Apply basic principles of elements of design in painting
  3. Demonstrate basic techniques of water color
    1. Brush movement
    2. Wash technique wet on wet color application
    3. Experimentation with water color textures
    4. Space and depth

  2. Develop two to four sketches in light and dark values
