Students will participate in a supervised internship with regional computer and information technology employers. Students will acquire industry work experience that validates employability skills. Course may be repeated up to a maximum of 4 credits.
Prerequisites
Enrollment in Computer Science program, instructor permission, and concurrent enrollment in CS 197.
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:
- Acquire industry work experience
- Validate employability skills as an entry level computer technician
- Earn a positive evaluation from the internship supervisor
Course Content Outline
- Develop work-based learning objectives with the advisor and work supervisor
- Submit weekly timesheets
- Evaluation by the work-based learning supervisor
- Complete self-evaluation and report of the work experience
