MGMT 430: Project Mangement

This course examines the role of project management and introduces students to project management frameworks and processes. Student will learn to apply knowledge and skills for effective project management in order to plan, execute, and complete projects that achieve organizational goals.

Prerequisites

Acceptance into the Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management program.
Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or skills:

  1. Construct a project charter that defines the project and the assigned roles.
  2. Utilize communication and leadership strategies to maximize success for projects.
  3. Estimate scheduling and resources for a project.
  4. Assess risk and uncertainty around a project.
  5. Measure project quality and performance.

Department Guidelines

The class syllabus must contain all elements as described in the Syllabus Checklist. A class schedule must be provided to students that contains content covered (text chapters, topics, etc.) and tentative test dates (to include final date/time).
Assessment needed for PO6: Develop comprehensive project plans, monitor the plans, identify areas of risk and deal with problems through appropriate use of project management techniques.
